Welcome to our BRAG page!  Goals for dog and handler teams vary.  Some want those titles, others simply

want their dog to stay with them and have fun.  Big and small, we like to celebrate them all.

So enjoy the brags.  These dog and handler teams certainly had fun getting there - wherever their "there"

may happen to be. (12/2007)

Anne Morrison and her Sheltie Jet are frequent competitors and can be found at many AKC trials.  These photos are

from a trial in Marietta GA in December 2006.

Pugs can fly too!  This is Kathy Tucker's Pug, Julstone Silversmith Pangaea CD RN AX AXJ, known affectionately as "Mr." Smithers.  Smithers was ranked with the Pug Dog Club of America as #3 Jumper and #5 Standard Pug in 2006

Maura Shelton's Border Collie Ti had retired from

agility because of injuries he received in an accident.  But in

2007 he made a miraculous recovery and not only competed

in both agility and herding but completed his AKC Open

Standard - Preferred title in the spring.  Ti has been quite successful this year in herding as well. He went from Novice

to Advanced Titles in sheep during his ASCA trials this year, qualifying every run and earning High in Trial once. In

American Border Collie Handlers Assoc. trials this fall he competed in Novice and placed first in one trial and second

in a 2-day combined score in another. Ti turned seven years

old this fall (2007).

Jessica Vinson's  younger Border Collie rescue, Smudge did excellent at her first trial.  At the Fall 2005 trial Smudge demonstrated that all Jessica's hard work on jumping has paid off.  Smudge can jump!

July 2006 in Hattiesburg MS Smudge earned 4 out of 6 Q's, all with a first place!  Smudge now has her Starter Jumper and Starter Snooker title and 2 Starter gambler legs.  AND. . . Smudge will run for someone else too.  Versatility - thy name is SMUDGE!

Jessica Vinson's All-American, Max

Mad Max success story! Jessica Vinson’s Maximus,

affectionately known as Mad Max, ran his first full

agility course this weekend (May 8-9, 2004, USDAA

Holly springs Trial). One was even a perfect run in PI

Jumpers - the first place and "Q” are the proof. Who

knew "Mad Max" would ever complete a course?!

At the June 2006 trial Max earned his Starters Jumpers

title and even did the dogwalk, to Max a thing to be

feared!  Max also does therapy work (he completed his

Delta Society Certified Therapy Dog title in 2004) at

Lakeside and, like his sister Smudge, competes in flyball.

May 2007 update:  Sadie is now competing in the

USDAA Performance program - quite successfully.

Sadie has now earned her P3 Gamblers title and P3

Standard titles, and needs only 2 Jumpers legs and

1 Snooker SQ for her APD, the Performance ADCH.

June 2007:  Sadie has earned her APD title in Glen

Carbon IL at the Zonebusters USDAA trial.  She also

earned her P3 Snooker Master and P3 Jumper Master

titles.  And in July 2007 in Hattiesburg MS, Sadie

earned her P3 Snooker CHAMPION title.

Kristi Mulrooney and Sugar, FMCH, AAD, OAC, OJC,

OAJ, NA (often described as a Border Collie in

Papillon size) recently completed their VERY hard

earned AAD (Advanced Agility Dog) title.  Sugar is

now working on her Onyx flyball title.

This is SO Sugar!   Sept. 12, 2005 update:  Sugar, FMCH!

Kristi Mulrooney's Border Collie,  Zig Zaggin' Zadie,

FMX, TF-III, AD, AR, AS, NA, NAJ earned the Advanced

Relay title in October 2004 and the Advanced Snooker

title in October 2005.

Jazz, MAD!

Diane Weisbrodt's Australian Shepherd, Joey, AAD.

Joey retired in January, 2006, at the tender age of 10.

At top left is Diane's Sheltie, Quest.  At the Greater

Shelby Kennel Club trial in Memphis in April 2007 Quest

moved up to Open Jumpers with Weaves by completing

her Novice JWW title.  On Sunday at the same trial,

Quest also Qualified in Novice Standard to earn his

Novice title.  All of Quest's qualifying legs were

placements:  Firsts!  Quest is also working on his Agility

Dog (AD) title in USDAA.

At bottom left is Diane's little Border Collie rescue,

Jazz, MAD.  That's right, Master Agility Dog!  Jazz

earned the USDAA title November 17, 2007 at the

WTWDC Holly Springs trial with a beautiful standard run.

Candace Spearman and Erica the wonder dog.

2007Ms. Erica had been off agility for quite some

time due to the need for surgery to repair a torn ACL.

Candace didn't know if - or when - Erica would show

again.  But Erica returned in February 2007!  At the

WTWDC trial in Holly Springs, MS Erica earned her

first Masters' leg in P3 Jumpers!

Mary Frank and Gracie Mae  were introduced to

agility through a UKC club in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Since moving to Memphis in 2001 this team has made

great strides.  They got their feet wet in competition in

Nov. 2002 at WTWDC's first trial at For Pet's Sake.

Gracie Mae and Mary don't make it to a lot of

trials, so they try to optimize their experiences,

working on their weaknesses and improving their strength between trials.  This paid off for them at Cullman, AL.

Mary had chosen to show Gracie Mae in the performance

classes, taking advantage of the lower jump height to work on handling moves and obstacle performance.  As a result, Gracie

Mae quickly earned her Performance Dog 1 agility title. Gracie

Mae has now moved into Championship starters classes, and has already earned all her starters level titles:  standard, gamblers, snooker, jumpers and pairs.  She is competing in the Advanced classes at the 26" jump height.

2007 update:  Gracie Mae earned her AAD (Advanced Agility

Dog) title at the Feb. WTWDC trial, and is now competing in all Masters classes!

Older dogs can learn new tricks!  Lisa Deming’s Mason

didn't even start to train in agility until he was 7 years

old. He earned his first agility leg on his 8th birthday in

May 2004.   Mason (CH Myriad Moonstruck NA OAJ) not

only competes regularly, but has also earned the NA and

OAJ AKC agility titles.

In addition, Mason has an active social life:  he sired 7

gorgeous black miniature puppies, all of which are in confor-

mation and/or performance homes.  Of course, Lisa knows a

good thing when she see it, and she kept 2 of Mason's pups:

Rev and Danica.

SPPRING 2006:  Mason returned to competition at

the Nashville DTC's trial in January 2006, after

taking the entire fall off.  Despite the slightly rusty teamwork, Lisa and Mason pulled it together on the

last day for a 2nd place in Open Standard,

11 seconds under time.

And while we're on poodles, Eileen McGinley started

training her Standard Poodle, Margaux, in agility at

the tender age of 10. That's 10 YEARS, not 10 months!

Who says you can't teach an old dog?  In October

2004, one week shy of her 12th birthday, Margaux

earned her first 2 qualifying legs in the rain at the

St. Jude Showcase of Dogs AKC trial.   At her next

trial in January 2005 she earned the NJP

(AKC Novice Jumpers Preferred) title at the Nashville

Dog Training Club trial.  Miss Margaux has not yet

announced her retirement, but according to Eileen she

won't be setting any speed records either!  And Eileen

has young Palmer, another standard poodle, waiting

in the wings.

how to do weave poles HAPPILY and correctly!  Since

weave poles at trials were a problem for a bit, this photo is wonderful proof of Indy's and Darlene's progress!
